One of the destinations that has seen its popularity grow in recent years is the Peruvian jungle, specifically Iquitos. This is because the Amazon is a place full of beautiful scenery and delicious food. In addition, it is the ideal place for animal and nature lovers, as they can use these days to visit places such as Monkey Island or the Amazon Rescue Center for closer contact with them.

COST OF AIR AND GROUND PASSES
If you want to visit this jungle city during the Easter holidays, you can find airline tickets from $64 dollars or approximately S/. 237 soles if you buy them early. Iquitos is a city that cannot be reached by land because it is one of those that does not yet have a land connection, so the only ways to get there are by air or river.
PRICE TO VISIT THE MOST FAMOUS TOURIST PLACES
-Lake Zungarococha: It can be reached in just 20 minutes by car, as it is located just over 10 kilometers from Iquitos Airport. It is a populated center with 800 inhabitants that has become a great attraction among tourist options if you visit the jungle. You can take a boat ride, canoe and slide, visit the Quebrada de Corrientillo to eat traditional dishes or simply disconnect from it enjoying the natural environment of the Lake.
-Pacaya Samiria National Reserve: It is located 308 kilometers from the city and is surrounded by the Marañón River and the Ucayali flow. It is home to almost a thousand varieties of animals and species recorded in its flora. In the reserve you can take a cruise to explore the Amazon from the comfort of a boat, visit a native community, take a night hike if you are looking for adventure, visit the El Dorado Lagoon where you can witness some of the most beautiful sunsets. To get there you must first take a bus to the city of Nauta and then a boat to the reserve. If you are looking to book a tour at a lower price, it is best to do so by arriving at the same Reservation.
-Monkey Island: If you like animals, you won't want to miss this place. It was created in 1997 and its objective is to take care of monkeys and make them reintegrate into the jungle when they are healthy. Here you will not only be able to walk among the wild flora and witness the sighting of monkeys, but also, if you are lucky, you will be able to carry a small primate throughout your journey, this will depend on how the little animal feels. The ticket price is S/. 20 soles for nationals, S/. 30 for foreigners and S/. 10 for children.
-Amazon Rescue Center (CREA): It is a site dedicated to the research and protection of living beings and the resources of the Amazon. In CREA you can be part of the preparation that is done to an animal prior to its release, you can also interact with other species, attend charles or workshops and, if you plan to stay longer, you can also sign up as a volunteer. The cost of admission varies depending on whether you are local, national or foreign, children under 12 years old and students have special rates.
-Quistococha Tourist Complex: It is located about 23 kilometers south of the city and is considered one of the most outstanding tourist landscapes in the region due to its 369 hectares of Amazonian natural forest. It has an artificial white sand beach surrounded by native vegetation. At the resort you can stroll through the botanical garden, visit the zoo where about 150 wild animals live, swim or boat ride on Tunchi beach, rent a canoe and more. It can only be reached by car, so you can hire a taxi or take one of the buses that leave Próspero and Alfonso Ugarte streets. Admission costs S/. 3 for adults and S/. 1 for children, you also have the option of hiring a guide to learn more about the place.
-Malecón Tarapacá: Also known as boulevard, this great avenue is one of the places that attracts the most tourist interest in the area, since it is located on the banks of the Itaya River and serves as a main meeting point. This makes it one of the busiest points to make different plans. The Malecón offers a panoramic view of the Belén neighborhood and allows you to do different activities such as: getting to know the small port where you can book tours or boat trips, visit the popular Plaza de Armas in Iquitos, which is just one block away, get to know the Museum of Amazonian Indigenous Cultures located on the Malecón itself and more.
COST OF HOTELS AND FOOD
In Iquitos you can find accommodations from S/. 37 soles and can reach S/. 398 if you decide to stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, which is the only five-star hotel in the city. Although there is nothing missing for Easter holidays, you can still find rooms in some hotels, but it is possible that the price will rise due to the high demand they have during these celebrations.
When it comes to food, you can find local restaurants that charge from S/. 12 soles. While a meal in a mid-range restaurant serving traditional local dishes can cost approximately S/. 90 soles for a lunch or dinner for two people where two to three dishes are consumed.
