Crime in Surco: In self-defense, businessman shoots criminal who tried to assault him

Both were injured. Police officers surrounded the injured offender and took the businessman to the nearest hospital in the district.

Last Monday night, an intense shooting occurred due to an attempted theft of a van driven by businessman Pablo Pastor, who and his wife were returning from the gym in the 14th block of Ayacucho Avenue in the district of Groove.

The América Noticias newspaper report detailed that a couple was inside their vehicle, when they were intercepted and threatened by two criminals who were on motorcycles. However, Pastor reacted and made use of his firearm.

This event caused alarm among neighbors and passers-by, due to the shooting that broke out. One of the wrongdoers was injured in the arm and was immediately helped by his accomplice. Eventually, both managed to flee. The businessman and driver of the van was hit by some bullets and was admitted to the Casimiro Ulloa hospital.

The National Police arrived at the scene and collected the bullet casings that were on the ground; they subsequently initiated a siege plan to capture the injured offender.

- Get on the ground, seek shelter on a wall, pole, bench, bench, sidewalk or vehicle and stand horizontally, with your arms covering your head.

- When you are with children, protect them first, throw them on the ground and if possible cover them with your body while looking for a safe place, crawling or walking squatting as bullets usually hit a body from the waist up.

- If you are in a vehicle, throw yourself on the floor of the unit and seek to protect minors, in case they accompany you, do not run out of the unit, you may be mistaken for a criminal escaping from the crime scene.

- If you are close to the place of the conflict, please leave with caution on foot or by car as the case may be. Keep in mind that you run the risk of being confused by both the gunmen and the police.

- It is important that if the police authorities ask you to evacuate the place, you must listen and do not stop for material things.
