The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), announced on the morning of April 13 at the morning conference from the National Palace, that vaccination of boys and girls is likely to begin as early as May.

He mentioned that during the month of April the priority would be, as set by the National Vaccination Plan, to end the immunization of adults, who can receive any brand of vaccine.

The vaccination graph, he said, rose again to 442,315 vaccines applied, after a period of going down with only 120,000, and underpinned that doses will be available in health centers for people to voluntarily attend vaccinations.

He also reported that a batch of vaccines have already been paid in advance through the COVAX mechanism, the Global Access Fund for Covid-19 Vaccines (COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access) of the National Organization of the United Nations (UN), which is an alliance driven by public and private actors with the objective of ensuring equitable access to vaccines that can be developed against the coronavirus.

This with the aim of obtaining doses for minors. The Mexican government is currently awaiting shipment, the president said.
