Mexico already has its place assured for the Qatar 2022 World Cup dispute. In the midst of the controversy over the formation of the squad that will travel to the Asian country to play the Cup, Gerardo Martino gave no hope of seeing Javier Hernández again in the national team. Despite this, the academy of the Chivas of the Guadalajara Deportivo Club said he was ready to respond to a possible call from the Argentine strategist.

On the eve of facing the match against Chicago Fire, and after overtaking the LAFC in the MLS, Hernandez spoke to the media again. During a press conference, he was questioned about the reasons that led him not to be considered by Tata Martino. Although he did not delve into details, he expressed his desire to return to the National Team.

“Like every eligible player, I will try to do it in the best possible way in my club, in my institution, as my father and grandfather always taught me. So I'm going to keep doing it in the best way. I'm going to keep working. My head is 100% on this project. Obviously if any calls come, welcome. If I didn't want to be in the national team, I would have retired,” he said.
