The head of the Attorney General of Justice (FGJ) of Puebla, Gilberto Higuera Bernal, commented that the remains of the dismembered body that were located in Las Ninfas Park could be of the policeman reported missing in Tehuacán.
This is what Higuera Bernal commented after the ceremony of recognition of prominent personnel in the face of the questioning of local media. However, he warned that it will be until genetic tests are carried out that it will be possible to confirm (or not) that the human remains found in the capital of Puebla belong to an element of the municipal police of Tehuacán.
The uniformed man was reportedly deprived of his liberty on 4 April, but the victim's remains were found over the course of several days in multiple bags. According to local media, cleaners from the city council reportedly discovered a black bag inside a trash can with blood dripping. This is how the local authorities were notified.
Through a search carried out by municipal police, on April 9 it was reported that a head had been located inside a bag, while on April 10 the torso and arms were found in Las Ninfas Park, Volcanes colony. Later, on April 12, the legs were found.
The remains found during those days belong to the same person, said Gilberto Higuera, although he reiterated that much deeper tests have to be done before the identity of the victim is revealed.
He also indicated that the cause of this incident could be related to drug trafficking activities based on investigations of the places where the human remains were found, as well as the circumstances of the events and the manner in which the victim's body was disposed of.
According to the Public Security area, the element (identified as Manuel “N”) had been on vacation since April 1. Local media reported the discovery of an orange Volkswagen Caribe on the corner of Hidalgo and Atlixco avenues, El Carmen neighborhood, which would be the unit that the victim was handling when he was deprived of his liberty by alleged armed subjects.
Similarly, according to the testimonies of some of his colleagues, Manuel “N” has been in service for about 7 years. For his part, Mayor Pedro Tepole Hernández indicated that the State Prosecutor's Office and the municipality of Tehuacán are conducting the corresponding investigations in order to identify the victim and give notice to his relatives.
It is worth mentioning that, according to what the municipal president of Tehuacán said, a badge was found among the human remains, so he ruled out that it was the missing element on April 4, since he was on vacation. However, so far no official communiqué has been released on the subject. Meanwhile, Manuel “N” has been missing for more than a week.
