293 new cases of covid-19 reported in Colombia this April 13

The MinSalud report also noted that five Colombians died of the disease on the last day

The Ministry of Health reported, this Wednesday, April 13, 2022, 293 new cases of covid-19 in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 21,236 tests were processed, of which 6,132 are PCR tests and 15,104 are antigens.

The report also noted that five Colombians died of the disease on the last day. In this way, the country reaches a total of 139,734 deaths due to the virus since the start of the pandemic.

By aggregating all the figures, Colombia reached a total of 6,088,912 infections, of which 3,730 are active cases and 5,921,849 correspond to positive cases that have already managed to overcome the disease.

There are 173 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Antioquia, Arauca, Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogota, Boyaca, Caldas, Caqueta, Casanare, Cesar, Choco, Cordoba, Cundinamarca, Guainia Guaviare, Huila, La Guajira, Putumayo, Quindio, Risaralda, Sucre, Valle del Cauca, Vaupés.

This is how vaccination is going in the country

The most recent report from the Ministry of Health also indicates that as of 11:59 on Monday, April 11, 2022, a total of 81,790,318 doses of the vaccine against covid-19 had already been applied in Colombia.

According to the same report, the number of Colombians with the complete vaccination schedule, that is, those who have already received the two doses of the biological, currently amounts to 28,741,141 people, while 6,388,534 people have been immunized with single doses. Likewise, 10,922,404 booster doses have been applied.

Similarly, during the last day, a total of 90,005 vaccines were applied, of which 24,023 were for the second injection, while another 3,787 were single-dose.

In view of the Easter holidays and festivities, Iván Cárdenas, deputy director of Communicable Diseases of the Ministry of Health, called for not neglecting practices and behaviors for the management and control of the risk of covid-19. “A call is made to all individuals, families and communities to maintain biosecurity measures such as hand washing during this Easter week, but above all, to prioritize completing vaccination schedules and applying the booster dose,” Cárdenas explained.

He also indicated that in case of holding or attending mass events, it is preferable that they be outdoors. In addition, it urged citizens to keep informed about new measures or recommendations issued by the national Government and municipal, district or departmental governments.

Taking into account the progress made in the National Vaccination Plan against covid-19 and the current situation of the pandemic in the country, it is recommended that the following points be taken into account:

1- Complete the vaccination schedules and apply the booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

2- Avoid crowds.

3- In closed places always wear the mask covering mouth and nose.

4- In case of holding or attending mass events that are preferably outdoors, in case they are held indoors, remember the need to wear a mask and complete the vaccination schedules.

5- Perform hand hygiene continuously.

6- If you have symptoms compatible with covid-19, isolate yourself preventively and avoid attending mass events or public places.

7- Strengthen additional self-care measures mentioned in Resolution 350 of 2022
