Twenty years after the premiere of La Academia, rumors began to emerge about the possible return of Lola Cortes as a judge on this program. The stage actress is remembered for her strict comments and for her heated arguments against contestant Jolette.
Speculations about the return of Lolita Cortes to this reality series emerged on social networks, however, they were fueled because she will not be part of the jury panel in the third season of Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy.
This was revealed by Andrea Rodríguez to TVyNovelas magazine, as she mentioned that Lolita Cortés “has another project that she signed”. In that interview, Hoy's producer also mentioned that she left this choice at the discretion of La Jueza de Hierro.
“We couldn't be together anymore. He retired with affection, with love. After all, he came with me, asked me what to do, but I told him it was his decision.” It should be noted that the singer was also a judge in the first two seasons of Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy.
Similarly, the producer mentioned that Lolita Cortes would not be opposed to having a special guest participation on the reality show Hoy.
On social networks, the people behind the accounts that share “spoilers” connected the information and assured that this “other project” was the special edition of The Academy.
This alleged return was also endorsed by Alejandro Zúñiga on his YouTube channel, on the other hand, the show specialist detailed that the jury that will supposedly replace Lolita Cortés will be Ema Pulido. The other judges of Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy are Latin Lover and Andrea Legarreta The Candy Judge.
It should be noted that at the moment, there is no official information about Lola Cortés's participation in La Academia, but it is a fact that she will not be part of Las Estrellas dance in Hoy.
Accounts about shows like La Comadrita and Más Noticias spread “extra official” information about the alleged return of Lolia Cortés, so La Academia fans made comments such as the following: “OMG I'm dying if it's what I want it to be”, “I hope if I'm at La Academia, Lolita and her reviews are top with Gavito” and “Obviously, at La Academia they just announced casting today. It comes with everything this season.”
On the other hand, almost a month ago, Lolita Cortes mentioned that the situation on the program was more complicated than what was seen on cameras and revealed that not all of her moments at La Academia were as good as one might think, pointing out various ill-treatment.
Among the assumptions, it is known that Horacio Villalobos and Danna Paola would apparently also be in talks, since the television station's plan is to “throw the house out the window” because it will have a large production and budget for its celebration.
Another big rumor is that this time the program will be broadcast in two parts: concert Saturdays and Elimination Sundays, so it would be the first time that the technique they have used in Exatlon Mexico or La Academia Kids could be used in said program.
The expectation of the 20 years of The Academy is very high, according to Alex Kaffie's column, “It was rumored that Alan Tacher would be driving (who is turning 20 this year. Its first broadcast was on June 30, 2002), however it was decided that Adal Ramones would be the host of that reality show.”
As for official information from TV Azteca, the television station opened a casting call to look for the participants of the commemorative edition:
“Do you want to be part of The Academy for 20 years? So you can fulfill your dream. The 20 years Academy is looking for the best voices in Mexico, so you can't miss this unique and unparalleled opportunity. Soon will arrive on the screen of Azteca UNO La Academia 20 years, the number one reality show on Mexican television, which promises the best emotions”, was read in the statement. Those who meet certain requirements will be able to participate in the new season.
