It's been years since a family clan dominated the chlorine stronghold in the Vraem. Three generations, father, son and grandson, prepared and sold basic cocaine paste every day. The Vraem Police Front seized 74 kilos of cocaine alkaloid from the family, two retroloads, long-range weapons, scales, cell phones and a laptop.

“The price of this drug abroad varies according to its destination. If it is brought to the US market, it can cost 20,000 dollars just a kilo of alkaloid and if it is brought, on the contrary, to the European market, one kilo can cost up to 40,000 dollars, commented one police officer.

The chief of operations was identified as Cirilo de la Cruz and had three requisitions in place at the time of his arrest, in addition to multiple prosecutions for illicit drug trafficking. He was even able to make his 17-year-old grandson work in the family business.

The ringleader's wife was arrested simultaneously. Hounds of the Police Front found the containers in which the basic pasta should rest before being packed, after their long journey inside or outside the country.

“We are going to be forceful against illicit drug trafficking and other crimes that may be committed in this jurisdiction. We are not going to stop, we will be intervening 24 hours a day, he said.

This police team seeks to achieve peace after decades of conflict with this family that planned to continue with the rest of the members who were going to come over the years.

For three generations, the family had taken over the land of basic cocaine paste. Video: Good morning Peru.

STRATEGY AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING

According to the Official Gazette El Peruano, it was reported that the Ministry of the Interior (Mininter) launched a few weeks ago the implementation of the Operations Troy 2022 to destroy clandestine airstrips and neutralize drug trafficking air routes throughout the country.

The Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Chávarry, and the commander general of the Peruvian National Police ( PNP), General of Police Vicente Tiburcio, traveled to the Ucayali region with the Director of Anti-Drug of the National Police, General PNP Deny Rodríguez.

In the town of Vista Alegre, in the district of Curimaná, in the province of Pedro Abad, they supervised the destruction with explosives of two clandestine airstrips approximately 3 kilometers long that were used by criminal organizations engaged in drug trafficking.

Precisely, the head of the Interior sector maintained that specialized personnel of the Anti-Drug Directorate (Dirandro) captured a Cessna model plane, of Bolivian origin, that was used to transport drugs. This aerial vehicle was found on a clandestine airstrip built in Vista Alegre.

According to intelligence, the National Police have determined that this type of runway is used by drug traffickers to establish an airlift between Peru and countries such as Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. However, Chávarry Estrada assured that the Interior Sector is committed to relentlessly combating illicit drug trafficking.

The Minister welcomed the presence of the Peruvian State in inhospitable areas of the Peruvian Amazon as part of the anti-drug policy, as well as the implementation of the Troya 2022 Operations Plan, which will be implemented with the participation of the National Police, the Armed Forces and the Public Ministry.

“The presence of the State is important in these remote parts of the country. We have come to Pedro Abad together with the National Police to oversee the destruction of two clandestine airstrips used by drug traffickers for drug trafficking,” said Chávarry Estrada. “We will remain steadfast in the fight against drugs,” he added.
