The COVID-19 pandemic continues to take the lives of thousands of people and infect millions, since to date there are about 323,000 deaths from this disease, as well as 5 million infected. Faced with this, Eduardo Clark García, the director general of Digital Government of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation of the CDMX, stated that the only way to avoid a reoutbreak is to get vaccinated.

In this regard, the director of ADIP announced the locations and dates for vaccinating stragglers, that is, those over 18 years of age who for whatever reason have not been vaccinated to date.

The vaccination process for laggards will take place on Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday 13 of the same month, that is, during this couple of days people of legal age, as well as those in the age range of 15 to 17 years old or people with comorbidities will be able to attend.

“The best way to prepare ourselves to avoid a regrowth and if it happens, to prevent it from happening to older people is to give ourselves that third dose,” Eduardo Clark said during a radio interview with WRadio.

Because the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, urged the governors of the entire country, as well as the head of government of the CDMX, to implement a massive vaccination day, to achieve more comprehensive schemes, the director of the ADIP mentioned that efforts will be intensified to continue the implementation of dose.

The idea is to strengthen the National Vaccination Plan after Easter so that people who have not yet completed their vaccination schedule can achieve it in venues or places that are already considered permanent spending Holy Week.

According to Clark Garcia, they will continue with the same vaccination rules, but the process will be reinforced. And it is that about a million people put on the original scheme, that is, first and second doses, but then they did not go for the reinforcement.

This is a difference of just over a million, since about 7.5 million people have complete schedules and only above 6 million will still have to be given the third dose.

“We're going to go the extra mile to set up more locations, bring it closer to people, reduce requirements, so that those million people who didn't get vaccinated find an opportunity to do so.”

When will stragglers be vaccinated?

The locations where the vaccination units will be placed are:

*Weapons Room

-First and second doses to people over 18 years old.

-Reinforcement to anyone over 18 years old.

-First and second doses to young people aged 15 to 17 years.

-First and second doses for adolescents aged 12 to 13 years with comorbidities.

Meanwhile, the director of ADIP insisted that the indicators in CDMX remain lower, since the number of hospitalized patients in the Valley of Mexico is 15 fewer than last week.

“We are around 170 hospitalized throughout the Valley of Mexico, about 15 people less than last week. We are also identifying fewer than 30 positive cases on average daily with an overall positivity of 4%.”

Thanks to the current outlook, he reiterated that the trend has continued since the end of January, so there are no warning signs or resurgence of cases.

“We already have a very low number of daily hospital admissions, we are talking about at least 10 daily admissions by far, of those, that is, 7 out of 10 are people who do not have their full schedule.”
