Ukraine captured Viktor Medvedchuk, Russian oligarch close to Putin

Ukrainian authorities announced Tuesday that they captured Viktor Medvedchuk, a Russian oligarch who is said to be a friend of Vladimir Putin.

The same news was confirmed by the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, who posted on his social networks on Tuesday a photograph of handcuffed Medvedchuk, who is the leader of the pro-Russian Ukrainian party Opposition Platform for Life.

“A special operation has been carried out thanks to the Ukrainian Security Service. Well done,” Zelensky added to his publication in which Medvedchuk is seen in handcuffs and military dress sitting on a chair.
