A road accident occurred yesterday, April 11 on the Rio Frio Ariguani road, in the municipality of Ciénaga in the department of Magdalena. The result of this regrettable accident is two people injured, including a Deputy Mayor of the Police and four deceased persons, all relatives of the uniformed man who were transported in a private vehicle.
Deputy Mayor Walter Peña was driving the vehicle and according to the version referred to by the truck driver, the fact would have arisen, when the vehicle in which the official was driving tries to overtake in the opposite direction, producing the coalition with the truck.
Information obtained by Infobae's journalistic team mentions that the father of the uniformed man, identified as José Peña, Fanny Martin mother, María del Carmen grandmother and Karen Dueña wife of the Subintendent were the fatal victims of the road accident, while he and his daughter were injured
The Subintendent was referred to the Ciénaga Municipality Polyclinic, together with his daughter and his wife who died due to the severity of the injuries.
The medical report mentioned after his entry that the state of the uniformed man is critical while his daughter is regular-stable.
During the beginning of the Holy Week season, six people died on the roads of Cesar and Magdalena (Subintendent Case). The accidents occurred due to collisions between private cars and larger vehicles. In addition to the deceased, there are also people who are seriously injured.
In the case of Cesar, the accident occurred between an ambulance and a private vehicle on the road that connects the municipalities of Codazzi and Becerril. Preliminary versions indicate that the ambulance was on its way to Aguachica, after leaving a patient in Valledupar, when the car invaded its lane and there the collision occurred.
A man and a woman were mobilized in the vehicle, identified as Naim Janer Bolom and Liz Cabrera, who died from the impact. In addition, the driver and nurse of the ambulance were injured.
In the case of Magdalena (Subintendent Case), the accident occurred in the Banana Zone and left four people dead and two more seriously injured. The accident occurred when a red Chevrolet Spark car, in which a family was traveling to start their holidays, collided with a truck tractor heading towards Bosconia. It is presumed that the vehicle invaded the opposite lane and that is why the accident occurred.
“Among the first hypotheses used in this accident is that the family vehicle invaded the opposite lane and hit the truck head-on, which caused this tragedy,” Andrés Serna Bustamante, Magdalena Police Commander, told Blu Radio.
Four people died in this accident. In addition, two others have serious injuries, including a minor. Authorities assured that the little girl has head and chest trauma.
Authorities regretted these accidents and recalled the importance of careful driving this holiday season. Citizens, national and local officials and transit personnel have been urged to take measures to prevent road accidents.
