The representative to the House stressed that this is not the first time that Diego Molano has faced a case like that of Putumayo

After the operation carried out by the National Army in Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo, the controversy about its legitimacy continues, as well as criticism of the position of the National Government, regarding testimonies indicating that this would be a “false positive”. Congresswoman María José Pizarro, one of the speakers of the motion of censure against the Minister of Defense, spoke to Congressman María José Pizarro, who insists that there must be social pressure, for it to be carried out successfully, in addition, she expressed her concern about the relationship of some supervisory bodies and the presidency of the Republic.

In a dialogue with W Radio, Pizarro explained that this dynamic is necessary bearing in mind that the procedure carried out by the National Army must be studied, and that it was endorsed by the government itself, since the participation of the Military Forces was crucial to the same controversy, because although the official part indicates that the registered casualties were from members of the FARC dissidents, the population points out quite the contrary.

Faced with the process to be carried out by the congress, the representative said: “Justice has to move forward, it has to reveal what really happened, but what we do have to point out is that it was a bad procedure on the part of the Armed Forces, a procedure in which civilians were killed and that clearly had the participation of the Military Forces, therefore, political control must be given to the Minister of Defence and the motion of censure must be taken forward”.

Likewise, he stressed that although there must be independence within the different branches, this is hardly evident at present, since there is closeness between supervisory bodies and the presidency, because in this case, both the Attorney General's Office and other entities, they have a close bond with the President of the Republic, as indicated by the congressman.

Regarding the guarantees presented for the investigation, the representative for the list of Decents, pointed out: “It is something that we have been questioning and it is precisely the lack of autonomy within the powers, we are concerned that those who lead the control bodies are people who are very close to the presidency of the Republic, and, therefore, there are clearly no guarantees that these investigations will move forward. That is why, since the congress, one of our functions is to do political control and in that sense, if we could move the motion forward.”

He insisted that, in order for this motion to succeed, social pressure must be efficient, since it should be noted that, due to the dynamics of this remedy of control, ministers often end up resigning, making the similes with former Minister Botero and former Minister Abudinen; because in the case of Botero, he resigned prior to the resolution, while which Adudinen, did so after the motion of censure.

Regarding the position of society, the congressman said: “there must be social pressure, what we clearly expect, is that President Duque is on the verge of leaving, everything we have just experienced during his four years of excesses, failures, crimes by the Public Forces, a motion of censure can prosper, but for this we require social pressure.”

He also added that this is not the first time that Molano has been cited by the cameras, a reason that would demonstrate a repetitive action on the part of the portfolio manager, since in the context of the national strike he was also questioned by the military behavior throughout the territory and his alleged violation of human rights against the community that was mobilizing .
