For three months, the alias Manu Vaquita represented a special focus of attention for the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City, due to its dangerousness and alleged connection to the murder of former Jalisco Governor Aristotle Sandoval.
While investigators activated their radar to locate him, this subject, identified by the name of José Manuel “N”, operator of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was waging a criminal battle in Mexico City that was raging due to conflicts between cells settled in that area.
According to intelligence information, Manu Vaquita's favorite route was the dominion places of the Tepito Union (Rome-Condesa and Zona Rosa), where restaurants, gas stations and especially clubs and canteens were intended to intervene.
This subject was part of the CJNG structure interested in expanding its networks to the Mexican capital. Like several of the criminal leaders, Manu Vaquita had interests in business, so it is presumed to own some businesses, including the restaurant bar where the former president of Jalisco, Aristotle Sandoval, was executed in December 2020.
