Similarly, the husband of one of the two deceased women pointed out that his wife was a beneficiary of social programs such as Sowing Life and Nuevo Amanecer and that she was forced to go to vote since threatened to take away the support it received through such social welfare projects.

Witnesses who witnessed the event said that around 15 people were traveling inside the vehicle, including men and women, who were ejected from the truck when it capsized when it fell through an elevated area of the San Fernando Mountains region.

One of the people involved in the accident announced that they went to the municipal seat to cast their vote because a box was not installed in his community, but decided to participate as they were provided with free transportation to attend the Mandate Revocation exercise.

Local media reported that the truck was owned by the Municipal Government, whose owner is José Antonio Castillejos Castellanos, who organized the transfer of people to the municipal seat to exercise their right to vote.

The Tabasco president again issued a complaint to the electoral body for not placing enough boxes for all citizens to have access to suffrage: “There were municipalities where there were no boxes”.

López Obrador even awarded the body led by Lorenzo Córdova part of the responsibility for the traffic accident in which three people died in San Fernando, Chiapas.

“A truck that took people to vote collapsed (...) All this motivated because they removed a lot of boxes in order to prevent people from participating,” he claimed not before sending his condolences to relatives of the fatalities.
