It should be noted that the NY metro is the seventh most used in the world and the busiest in the United States (USA). Meanwhile, Mexican Collective Transport System (STC) is considered one of the most important public transport in Latin America.

Despite this relevance, Sheinbaum reiterated in his refusal to implement random user reviews, reinforce the installation of metal detectors or another extraordinary security measure.

To this, he argued that the incidence of robberies in the CDMX metro decreased from 10 to 2 cases a day (reported and reported) thanks to the reinforcement of the deployment of police elements in the facilities.

“It may happen that the figure is a little higher given that there is a part of the black figure, but it has been a very important decrease and this is the result of permanent surveillance and the work of the Metro itself”, he concluded.

After the news, the consul of Mexico in the city reported that there is no record so far of any injured fellow citizens.

This was confirmed by Jorge Islas López, a representative of the Mexican government in a non-political way, who, through his Twitter account, reported zero fatalities and indicated that he is keeping a watch on hospitals in the area in search of any affected Mexican.

Meanwhile, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, mentioned that he had previously given the instruction to maintain inquiries into the situation of compatriots in the area.

“The Consul in NYC, Jorge Islas, has instructions to investigate this fact and immediately report if any compatriots are affected. I keep them up to date,” he commented on the same platform.
