The former head of the Mexican Food Security Administration and Finance Unit (Segalmex), René Gavira, was linked to trial for his alleged responsibility for the illicit use of public resources, the Attorney General's Office reported through the Office of the Prosecutor Specialized in Organized Crime.

According to the FGR report, René “G” authorized the purchase of 100,000 securities in June 2020, with a value of 100 million pesos during the period from February 14, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

For the realization of this purchase, it resorted to the use of public resources belonging to Segalmex's assets through a Brokerage House, which is why this action was described as “illegal”, since it contradicts what is stipulated in the Guidelines for the Management of Financial Availability.
