Mourning in 'Day by Day' over the death of a member of the program: “Good trip, friend”

The news caught the members of the production by surprise, who took the opportunity to remember the best moments at their side

On May 22, 2001, the first edition of 'Dia a día' was broadcast, a morning entertainment program that has accompanied millions of Colombians for 21 years, for whom it has practically become a badge of Colombian television.

However, viewers and followers of the magazine were surprised, after the production recently announced the death of one of its collaborators, who lost his life in the middle of a traffic accident he suffered while on board his bicycle.

This is Diego Rubiano, a producer who worked on the channel from 2018 until the day of his death, as detailed in his LinkedIn profile. That is why his co-workers, who shared with him for five years, paid him a heartfelt tribute.

Likewise, presenters Iván Lalinde, Carolina Cruz, Catalina Gomez, Juan Diego Vanegas, Carolina Soto and Carlos Calero, tearfully dismissed Rubiano, whom they remember as an excellent companion and a great father.

In addition, they took the opportunity to send their condolences to the mother and son of the late producer.

Lalinde, who had promised not to cry at the time, could not avoid the feeling and recommended that viewers always leave home in peace, avoiding problems with their loved ones, “because you never know when will be the last time we see each other in the eyes and can give each other a hug”.

Those fans of 'Day by Day' didn't hide their sadness either, because although Diego Rubiano used to be behind the cameras, there were some moments when he was encouraged to appear on screen and generated great memory since then.

“As Ivan said, life is ephemeral and we don't know when we are going to say goodbye to those we love altogether”, “a lot of strength for his son and his mother because you are never ready for such a moment”, “thank you for your work on the channel and in your family, your friends are always going to remember you with a smile” and “I never knew him, but see the pain of his companions makes me feel his loss. Rest in peace”; these are some of the messages he received on social networks.
