The iCarly revival returned to Paramount+b with the launch of a second season, after the success of its debut on the platform. In 2021, actress Miranda Cosgrove resumed her lead role as Carly Shay and reunited with old friends like Jerry Trainor, her brother Spencer in fiction, and Nathan Kress, who gave life to Freddie Benson. Although she was cast in the original series, Jennette McCurdy — the remembered Sam Puckett — refused to participate.
In this return, new characters such as Laci Mosley (Harper Raines) and Jaidyn Triplett (Millicent Benson, Freddie's daughter) were also added. All the main actors will return to their roles, but the public did not miss the announcement of a very special guest star: Josh Peck. The actor maintains a long friendship with Cosgrove, since they were both part of the fictional family that made more than one laugh in Drake and Josh.
The Christmas movie he and Drake Bell shot in 2008 marked the end of the Nickelodeon sitcom. Therefore, neither “Megan” nor “Josh” have performed together in front of the cameras since then, but the original Paramount+ fiction became the perfect opportunity for a reunion.
The preview of iCarly shows the protagonist back to her attempts to turn her web show into an international success. To make the audience bigger and bigger, they will be helped by a manager (Peck) to grow the numbers of the now influencer Carly Shay. However, she will miss some of the fun in this process and the relationships she maintains with her friends will be jeopardized.
“A former teenage Internet sensation and her friends face the challenges of adulthood. Sometimes they do it right and sometimes things get a little crazy,” says the official synopsis of this title focused on the 20s stage for Carly, her friends and her beloved brother who took care of her until she came of age.
When is season 2 of ibiCarly released and what will it be about?
The first two episodes of the new iCarly installment were released on April 9 on Paramount+, while, in the United States, they could be seen from the 8th of this month. The rest of the season will be released every Friday in the US and, at the same time, will arrive in the region's catalogue.
“The second season begins right after the first season ended, with Carly refocusing her attention on her friends and family following her romantic complications, all while working to boost her revived web channel. Spencer and Harper must also navigate new personal and professional developments, while Freddie balances Millicent's upbringing with a new app and a new girlfriend,” says the synopsis of the next chapters.
