Citizen disarmed and killed a criminal who tried to rob him in the south of Bogotá

The man who caused the thief's death was made available to the authorities with the weapon used to determine whether he acted in self-defense

Cases of armed crime in Bogotá continue to be accompanied by the reaction, also violent, of the victims. A new case was recorded in the town of Bosa, where a thief who tried to steal it with his wife ended up dead because of the victim's reaction.

In the event he performed in the Bosa Recreo neighborhood, south of the capital, on the corner of 71st street south with carrera 90. Videos of a security camera revealed by the Bosa Bella portal show that the couple was moving along the platform and reached the corner.

They met at that point head-on with a man who was walking and carrying a bicycle. The subject pointed the citizen walking next to his wife in the face, apparently with a firearm, and the victim walked away. He handed him what he asked for and the man got on the bicycle to flee.

As he walked away at a slow pace and after he had achieved his task. The victim drew a weapon on his belt and reportedly shot him several times. The thief fell to the ground motionless and would have died on the spot from the impacts.

The victim of the theft and the shooter approached the subject again on the ground and remained there. Several neighbors arrived at the scene and listened to the detonations to see what had happened and the authorities soon arrived.

The event would have occurred in the afternoon of this April 11 in the vicinity of the Leonardo Posada Pedraza school. In addition, the woman who met the man who shot, was pregnant.

Lieutenant Colonel Jader Llenera, inspection officer of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, informed Citynoticias that the man who shot voluntarily presented himself to the authorities with the weapon he used. He was a retired military man who would have used a pistol he owned.

A traumatic weapon type revolver r was found in the body of the victim, with which he intimidated the couple to steal them, and he died immediately on the spot from the impacts. Lieutenant Llenera affirmed that the investigation of the facts is continuing, which are still under the understanding of self-defense and legitimate use of force.

Another failed theft occurred in the town of Puente Aranda

According to the Police, on the night of April 11, a gang of four criminals on board a vehicle, tried to steal the car of a family that was entering the parking lot of their home in the Carabelas neighborhood.

The family resisted and the reaction of the neighbors caused the criminals to abandon their plan and flee, but along the way the police reacted, which began the pursuit of the criminals, on NQS avenue south north.

When they saw the authorities approaching, they entered the Transmilenio exclusive lane and at 18th Street they hit the platform, lost control of the vehicle and hit an information beam at Paloquemao station. They suffered minor injuries and were captured by the police officers who were following them on the trail.

“The criminals had in their possession two blanks and were transferred to a care center to be assessed, they will later be left at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The vehicle in which the criminals were mobilizing turned out to be stolen and with forged license plates, and those captured had court records and records,” said Major Luis Miguel Morales, commander of the Puente Aranda Police Station.
