Inflation in the United States recorded its highest level in March in more than 40 years, mainly due to gasoline prices that skyrocketed especially with the war in Ukraine.

Prices rose 8.5% in 12 months, and 1.2% compared to the previous month, according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) released on Tuesday by the Department of Labor.

The price of gasoline alone soared 18.3% compared to February, he said.
