The congressman of the Alianza por el Progreso party, Alejandro Soto Reyes, complained about the salary he receives as a parliamentarian in a Sunday program on Cusco television which he regularly attends as a co-host. The representative of Cusco said that he, as a congressman, is also affected by the economic and political crisis that the country is experiencing, since he barely earns 10,200 soles as a gross amount compared to the 30,000 soles that a minister receives

“I am also on the side of the people, I also feel the sticking of bread, rice, sugar, because I will be a congressman but I don't make a million. We only earn 10,200 soles because the gross salary of a congressman is 15,600, but a minister earns 30,000 soles without being elected by the people, so there is the right to demand that they work for the benefit of the people,” he said on the Sunday program.

For this reason, the parliamentarian asked the citizens to protest against the ministers so that they work for the benefit of the people and that if they do not do it well they should be questioned as 'inept and incapacity'.

The host of RPP's' Encendidos', Mauricio Fernandini, was outraged by the parliamentarian's statements and said that “it is impressive who represents the citizens and the deep disconnection they have with everyday life with Peruvian who goes out to earn breakfast, lunch and lunch”

“My God! He feels the hit by the rise of bread, sugar and the supplies of the basic family basket. What do we do with the congressman? Shall we give him a dick?” , he said ironically
