Why students are taking Viagra with soda: there are already 34 incidents reported in Colombia, including five intoxicated minors in Bogotá

Recently, the five young people who were intoxicated were discharged from the Villemar el Carmen school in the town of Fontibón, according to the emergency forces that attended to help the students, they were intoxicated by the consumption of black carbonated drinks together with sildenafil or better known as viagra.

The Ministry of Education of Bogotá reported on this situation: “Once the situation is controlled and stabilized, minors are handed over to their families and are in their homes in recovery,” said the Ministry of Education.

But it is not an isolated event, several schools and medical centers have reported young people intoxicated due to the dangerous mix, which teenagers would be consuming to carry out a challenge that has been circulating through social networks.

Precisely a health authority such as the National Institute for Drug and Food Surveillance Invima, warned of this practice occurring in various regions of the country: “The occurrence of this malpractice has been identified in Santa Barbara, Antioquia with 2 cases in children under 14 years of age, in Piojó, Atlántico 1 case of a child under 11 years of age, in Vegachi, Antioquia 3 cases involving children under 12 years of age, in Acacias, 4 cases, in Madrid, Cundinamarca 11 cases, 8 of them in children under 13 and 3 under 12 years old, and in Cucuta 13 cases”.

Authorities are alarmed by the consequences that the use of sexual enhancers together with sugary drinks may leave to adolescent organisms not developed in their entirety, the Invima warned that within the dizziness and nausea experienced by consumers of this mixture, vision damage could also be experienced. and severe arterial failures.

“Likewise, the use of this medicine is not allowed in people with cardiovascular diseases, nor is it indicated for persons under 18 years of age with sexual disorders, and should not be taken if there is a history of liver diseases that lead to severe impairment of liver function such as: cirrhosis, cancer hepatic, autoimmune hepatitis among others,” Invima warned in a published statement.

Although there has been no report of a young man being intoxicated in an extremely serious situation or major complications, the authorities do warn of the imminent danger of this mixture of black sodas, sugary juices and sexual enhancers such as viagra. For this reason, they recommend parents and authority figures in educational institutions to be aware of what kind of material young people are consuming on social networks, as well as what practices they are carrying out. It is also recommended to talk to adolescents about the risk that the dangerous mixture would pose in their bodies.

Finally, the National Institute for Drug and Food Surveillance, Invima, recalled that viagra is a drug for the exclusive use of adults, which is why they ask workers in drugstores and drug stores to be responsible for its distribution and sale.

“In this regard, and once the uses, indications and contraindications of sildenafil have been exposed, the general public is reminded that this medicine should only be administered under medical formula, otherwise it can cause a serious health risk; reiterating that this type of medication is not for recreational purposes”, concluded the Invima in your statement.
