Iván Alejandro, head of Civil Protection of the entity, announced that the first investigations have already begun to clarify the facts, since the driver is presumed to have lost control of the vehicle due to the fact that it was operating with excess weight.

The wounded were treated by PC personnel, who provided first aid to the victims and later transferred them to a nearby hospital; on the other hand, the bodies were lifted by experts from the Chiapas State Attorney General's Office (FGE).

According to official information provided by the authorities, the vehicle is owned by the APS company and all the people who moved in its rear were originally from the community of Nueva Victoria.

One of those involved in the accident announced that they went to the municipal seat to cast their vote because a box was not installed in their community, but they decided to participate as they were provided with free transportation to attend the Mandate Revocation exercise.

Local media reported that the truck was owned by the Municipal Government, whose owner is José Antonio Castillejos Castellanos, who organized the transfer of people to the municipal seat to exercise their right to vote.
