CHAMPIONS WITH HISTORY

Carla Fermín, 17, positioned herself with the second best score in the EGMO, in which she won her fourth gold medal, being the previous ones in Ukraine 2019, the Netherlands (Holland) 2020 and Georgia 2021.

“This competition finds us with much greater experience than in previous editions. For my part, it is always a pleasure to represent my country internationally. These Olympics are also a great opportunity to know how much our level has increased for future competitions,” Carla said.

At the age of 16, Dariam Caparachín, a student from the same educational institution, performed for the second time at this Olympics and won the long-awaited gold award again. It should be recalled that in 2021 it obtained the highest score from the Peruvian delegation.

“I feel that participating again will give me much greater confidence for my future, not only in the Olympics but also at the academic level. I have studied a lot and developed possible problems that we will have to solve at the event. It is key to concentrate, but we must also be very creative when it comes to pointing the way to the result, the judges rate that and it is an exercise that I practice almost always”, commented the student.

Both students are now preparing to continue their studies at the most important universities in the world such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA. In the US, where there are already other Peruvian students who have achieved important victories in this type of competition.
