The Ministry of Mobility reported that since Monday, April 11, they begin repair work on the slabs on the North Highway, 24 hours a day and for approximately two months, so the Mobility Secretariat authorized the closure of a lane, located in the North-South direction of the North Highway between 182 and 172 streets.
It is noteworthy that, this road closure will last approximately two months, and will be during 24 hours a day. In this way, in order to guarantee the safety of passengers who travel on this route and to facilitate the execution of the work, some measures will be taken such as:
Transit of private vehicles
People traveling in a North-South direction on the North Highway will be able to continue riding along the five lanes that will be enabled on the mixed Western road.
Transit of public transport
The intermunicipal and articulated buses that run in the North-South direction on the North Highway will continue to circulate normally on the exclusive Western road.
Integrated Public Transport System (SITP) routes
The SITP buses will not affect their route, so they will continue to run on their usual route.
Pedestrian management
It will not be affected by the intervention, so the platform, located on the western side of the North Highway, will not be affected.
The Ministry of Mobility also makes some recommendations to pedestrians to travel exclusively on platforms, as well as make crossings at corners and places destined for them.
And it asks all users in the sector to take this information into account and move with caution following the signs, so that they can make their usual routes without any problems. Likewise, drivers to travel with caution and abide by the signage provided in the area of influence.
It should be remembered that there are other works such as the transfer of public utility networks and the construction of mixed lanes in the sector of Avenida 68, between 46th and 66th streets, three Sitp stops, which operated on Avenida 68 in front of the Salitre Mágico park, were moved to a new site, where they will operate until January 19. next year.
These three Sitp whereabouts are now located 420 meters north of 63rd Street, on the Eastern Rapid Causeway. They used to be located on the eastern slow road.
The fact is that Avenida 68, the Bogotá Metro Feeder, will pass through ten locations and will have several connections to speed up the mobility of TransMilenio buses and private transport vehicles.
The work will have a total length of 17 kilometers, progressing at a good pace in all its sections, the most advanced being that of 26th Street and 68th Avenue, which goes by 8%, followed by that of Calle 100 with North Highway (8%) and that of Calle 100 by the Suba trunk, where part of the structure of the future station is already assembled.
In addition, Avenida 68 will have a total of eight depressed people (three vehicles, four pedestrians and one bicycle route), which are added to seven vehicular bridges and 13 pedestrian bridges that will benefit both the inhabitants of the towns where the work passes through (about 1,193,484) and the other people who move along the corridor.
All these intersections will reduce travel times by up to 50% and will interconnect with the trunk roads: Highway Sur, Avenida de las Americas, Calle 26, Suba, Autonorte and the future First Line of the Metro and the Green Corridor of Carrera Seventh.
