To avoid the queues and delays that have occurred in recent months in the issuance and renewal of passports at the immigration offices, many travelers go to the headquarters of the Jorge Chavez airport where this document is processed if you have a trip within the next 48 hours. However, this option also presented problems due to system failures that do not allow printing of the document needed to leave the country.
Dozens of passengers reported this Monday, April 11, the lack of attention at the immigration offices of the airport, which has led to people having to reschedule their flights and many could miss their flights.
SYSTEM FAILURES
Faced with the complaint of people who are about to miss their flights and spend money, one of the supervisors had to go out and explain to passengers the situation of the problem.
He indicated that only the registration and enrollment of the passport was being addressed and that the technical problem had to do with an incident recorded with printing.
“Due to the incident that is being generated with printing, passports cannot be delivered. Advocacy is currently being worked on with specialists in the technical area of systems. But that happens through the power station,” he told passengers.
“People who have upcoming flights or who have rescheduled and are waiting for the passport, we are validating with the central office to be able to resolve the incident and start printing,” he added.
REGULARIZE PRINTING
Around 10 in the morning, the superintendent of migration, José Fernando Martínez, assured that the problem would be solved and that passports are already being printed.
The official said that the problem, which arose in the early hours of this Monday, is due to the fact that the system is from 2014 and that it is obsolete with respect to the new updates that are required for this document.
Along these lines, he asked the Ministry of Economy and the Congress of the Republic to allocate a budget line to Migration so that the system is renewed and not have so many problems.
BRENA MIGRATIONS
Meanwhile, a large agglomeration of people registered in the premises of Migraciones Breña because there would also be failures in the system there. In addition, several passengers were arriving from Jorge Chavez Airport desperate because they had to travel within the next 24 hours. Therefore, queues were held for people who will travel in the next 24 hours and others who will do so in the next 48 hours.
