This week comes the new Amazon Studios original series for Prime Video and that could be one of the highlights of the month: Outer Range. This is a supernatural western starring Josh Brolin as Royal Abott, the owner of a ranch in Wyoming, United States. Directed and starring Brolin himself, this fiction arrives on Friday, April 15 and will feature eight episodes in its first season.
His family and his land are his priority, but some neighbors threaten to take everything away from him. The loss of an important member of the community and the appearance of a mysterious hole in their land will end up stirring the waters to begin the story of this fiction created by Brian Watkins together with a group of executive producers in which Josh Brolin and Brad Pitt by their production company Plan B.
“Outer Range tells the story of a farmer who uncovers an incomprehensible mystery in Wyoming. The seemingly small problems of a town and its land come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the countryside, west on the land of the Abbott family. Outer Range is an exciting western family saga with tints of ironic humor and supernatural mystery.”, describes the synopsis to the series leaving some clues as to which element will take all the attention.
Filmed in Australia, the novelty is that Brolin will also be in the role of director of the series, but what looks like a western will also have unknown elements that will take the viewer to mysterious places. “There are [clues] in all these eight episodes that give an answer to that,” Watkins hinted in a pre-premiere interview, adding that viewers will also encounter a very Twin Peaks atmosphere: “There is a kind of dripping effect on mysteries.”
