Las Bravas FC focuses its history on football, especially women's football, something that makes it even more interesting: few stories about it are seen in the world of film and television. Paradoxically, since this is the most played sport in the world by women. On the other hand, the series features a renowned male protagonist: Mauricio Ochmann, who sounds familiar to us all because of his participation in telenovelas both in Mexico and in the United States.
In Las Bravas FC, this sport will serve as a metaphor to tell a powerful story about the reunion with the roots, something that in this case happens to a former international football star. Likewise, a group of friends discover their value on and off the court. They will also see a people proud of their identity who find in sport a way of recognizing themselves and, therefore, valuing themselves.
The story begins when a professional football player at the peak of his career has to return to his little town in Mexico. There he ends up involved with a women's football team, which he despises at first, although little by little he will begin to get involved thoroughly.
Over the course of four episodes we will see multiple characters on their adventures to pursue their dreams and accept themselves with their virtues and defects. The series also highlights the value of teamwork. Another of his main themes will explore redemption, to show that the only way to achieve it is not to flee from the past, but to face it with courage and use it to improve.
Filmed in Mexico, Las Bravas FC stars Ochmann and is accompanied by Mauricio Barrientos, Ana Jimena Villanueva, Iran Castillo and Juan Carlos Colombo. It also brings together a talented team of young people such as Keyla Caputo, Ana Valeria Becerril, Esmeralda Soto, Paola Curón, Kariam Castro, Jerry Velazquez, Fernando Cuautle and Ari Albarran.
The scripts will be written by José Javier Reguilón, Luis Gamboa, Paula Rendón and Helen Santiago.
Las Bravas FC is the new HBO Max original series, co-produced between WarnerMedia LatinAmerica and The Mediapro Studio. Its premiere will be very soon, although there is no definite date yet.
