Jessica Newton surprised this Sunday, March 10 by announcing to all her followers that she had recovered her official Instagram account after being hacked on March 23 by a group of people who took over their social network by changing its name and putting it in private mode.
The Miss Peru organizer took a few minutes to tell how she was hacked and what she did to get her account back. According to the former beauty queen, it all started when a trusted person clicked on a link that she should not have accepted.
“I left my phone in the hands of someone I trust and without any bad intention accepted a link,” said the businesswoman writing in her video a tip to her followers that no link should be pressed so that the person inspires confidence.
“That was on March 23 when I had the entire delegation of the Mis Grand International and it was difficult for me to maintain a good mood. I was quite outraged by the loss of my account. The hackers first changed the name of the account, we had the time to report it to Facebook but a few hours later it didn't even recognize my face,” he added.
He also pointed out that the hackers changed the name again and there came a time when it was impossible for him to even search for his profile or go in and see what they were still modifying. In addition, he indicated that cyber criminals blocked people around him.
THE SOLUTION ARRIVED
Jessica Newton confessed that she was about to give up and continue working on her new Instagram account that had been created a few weeks ago. However, her husband contacted one of the Facebook owners to help them.
“Since I thought it was impossible, my husband contacted the head of Facebook that is based in Colombia and we had to create new mail, pass them on and after a day and a half I already had a link to log in to my account,” said the mother of Cassandra Sanchez from Lamadrid.
“I have come across the unpleasant surprise that I follow people who would never have followed. I have blocked people from my main account (...) Incredible! The hackers greeted me and tried to log back into the account from Pakistan,” Newton added, sharing an image of an Asian number requesting access to his Instagram.
HE DENIES HAVING CAUSED HIS OWN HACK
In the last part of her stories, Jessica Newton took the opportunity to make it clear that she had done nothing to cause her social networks to be hacked. “I think it's incredible that they have such a fanciful mind to say that I have self-hacked, which I would never do.”
Finally, she asked to be left alone, because in recent weeks she has not had a good time trying to recover her social network.
“I don't do anything to get along with anyone nor do I feel like messing around. All I ask is that you let me work. The last few weeks have been quite unpleasant,” he concluded, assuring that he will soon be uploading content to his original account.
