The medical report of Freddy Rincón worries Colombian football fans, as the former player suffered a serious accident in the early hours of April 11, when the vehicle in which he was riding hit a MIO bus in Cali (Valle del Cauca).
While the former footballer remains in the Imbanaco Clinic in serious health, the authorities are investigating how the accident occurred, in which four other people were also involved.
According to W Radio, Cali's deputy secretary of mobility, Edwin Candelo, said that although at first there was talk of the driver of the vehicle being someone else, it is investigated whether Rincón himself was driving.
Cali's deputy secretary of mobility said that according to an interview with one of the people who would be in the vehicle at the time of the crash, Rincón was driving.
The official assured the radio station that the corresponding breathalyzer tests were carried out, both to the passengers of the vehicle and to the driver of the MIO.
“The breathalyzer tests were carried out and came back negative. He is still in critical condition and with a reserved prognosis,” said Candelo.
Regarding the state of health of the MIO driver, the deputy secretary of mobility said that he is injured, but out of danger.
The former player is in an ICU and 72 hours were established to analyze his evolution according to the information provided by the doctors who care for the sports idol.

Rincón was born in Buenaventura on August 14, 1966. He started playing in the neighborhood and then began a successful sports career at Atlético Buenaventura. There he was discovered by one of the shareholders of Independiente Santa Fe, who took him to Bogotá, where he made his professional debut.
In 1986 he began his professional football career with Independiente Santa Fe, where he stayed until 1989, when América de Cali took over his services. In the scarlet team he won two titles and scored several goals during the Copa Libertadores.
From La Mecha he jumped to Palmeiras: thanks to his technique he led him to win two titles in 1994. His time with the Brazilian team catapulted him to Europe, with Napoli he played Serie A. Between 94 and 95 he played 28 matches (27 as a starter, of which in 23 he played the 90 minutes) and scored seven goals (double to Padova, double to Lazio and both Reggiana, Cremonese and Genoa).
After the good season, Rincón became the first Colombian to sign with Real Madrid after the call of Jorge Valdano.
The one born in Buenaventura came after a transaction of 4 million euros. Despite his quality as a footballer, Rincón failed to adapt to the merengue team, so he passed without pity or glory, playing only 21 games, 13 as a starter and only four in the 90 minutes. Later, he arrived at Corinthians where he became an idol until the date of his retirement as a professional player to take the coaching route.
The 55-year-old former midfielder is remembered for his score against Germany at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, which allowed the Tricolor to qualify for the first time in the round of the international competition.
