Invasion of Ukraine: Russian troops continue attacks in Donetsk, Mariupol and Kharkiv regions

The invading forces claimed on Monday that they had destroyed Ukrainian equipment and military installations, mainly in the east and south of the country

Russian troops continue their attacks in the Donetsk region, as well as in Mariupol and Kharkov, reaching the 47th day since the start of the invasion of Ukraine , in which 183 minors have died, according to Ukrainian sources.

The region of Khakriv, in eastern Ukraine and one of the hardest hit by the Russian army, has been bombed 66 times in the past 24 hours in attacks that have resulted in at least eleven deaths and fourteen injuries.

This was reported by the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, on his Telegram account, adding that the attacks have included shelling with Russian artillery, mortars and multiple rocket launchers.

“Rescuers had to extinguish fires in homes, warehouses and other civilian infrastructure facilities. In the bombing of Russian troops, 11 civilians were killed (including a seven-year-old boy) and another 14 were injured,” confirmed Syniehubov.

At the same time, Russia continues its offensive in the Donestk region and in the city of Mariupol, in addition to creating an “offensive group of troops” in the Dnipro region, according to the latest part of the High Command of the Ukrainian Army at the beginning of the 47th day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“The enemy continues to create an offensive group of troops to act in the direction of Slobozhansky (Dnipro region) and “probably in the next few days the occupiers will try to resume the offensive,” says the last part of the Ukrainian Army.

In the Donetsk direction, Russia continues to focus on taking control of the settlements of Popasna, Rubizhne, Nyzhne and Novobahmutivka, as well as on establishing full control over the city of Mariupol, where, “with the support of artillery and aviation, the occupants continue to storm the areas of the Azovstal plant and the port maritime”.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have repelled four Russian attacks in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, destroying five tanks, eight armored units, six vehicles and eight enemy artillery systems, according to the part of the Ukrainian Army.

According to the latest report by the Institute for the Study of War (USA), Russian forces have gained ground in the city of Mariupol in the last 24 hours. Mariupol, according to this institute, is divided into two; the city center, in Russian hands, and the main port of Mariupol, in the southwest, and the Azovstal steel plant in the east, which remain in Ukrainian hands.

So far, most casualties have occurred in Donetsk (110), Kiev (98), Kharkov (76), Chernigov (54), Mykolaiv (40), Luhansk (35), Zaporiyia (22) and Kherson (29) regions.

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are trying to gather evidence of the atrocities perpetrated by Russian troops while occupying the town of Buzova, near Kiev, Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Minister, explained Monday.

According to the ministerial adviser on his Telegram account, a mass grave was found in the village of Buzova with the bodies of Ukrainian civilians.

The politician has not specified, however, the place where the grave is located or the possible number of people buried there.

In this regard, the head of diplomacy of the European Union (EU), Josep Borrell, said that the Twenty-Seven will address how to give more support to the Ukrainian people, as well as the International Criminal Court (ICC), for which he met with its Attorney General, Karim Khan. “We will give all the support we can to both prosecutors, that of the ICC and that of Ukraine,” he said.
