Technology brings us closer, and for many it breaks barriers of time, distance and even age. This is the case of Hattie Retroage, an 86-year-old grandmother determined to find love, or at least a good date, and who has taken Tinder by surprise.
This former dancer ventured into the world of online dating and says she has managed to date more than 50 men.
Retroage is mother and grandmother. At the age of 48, she divorced her husband and since then she set out to enjoy her life, dating men younger than her.
Adapting to new technologies, he created a profile on the dating app Tinder, which he filled with sensual photos that quickly began to attract attention.
“The goal of my life is to change the horrible and decrepit view of aging, and turn it into something exciting,” he said in a dialogue with Barcroft TV.
And he's really succeeding. According to media statements, the former dancer does not lack requests or matches, especially from young men, her guilty pleasure.
Retroage says that this taste for young people is easy to explain: they are more skilled and vigorous in bed than men their age. But he highlights that he is very selective, and before agreeing to a sexual encounter with a Tinder suitor, he first dates him to check that there is chemistry.
“Then we go out for a drink, and, if the chemistry is right, we go to my apartment. Otherwise, each one goes their own way,” he told Daily Star.
This “grandmother of Tinder” has been in the game for years, and she has managed to have moments of great popularity, such as in 2018 when she participated in the Chanel 5 (UK) program Age Gap Love, which is dedicated to proving that age is not an impediment to love and relationships.
At that time Hattie had a boyfriend named Jonh, with whom she appeared on the show, but with whom she broke up shortly after.
So far, this sultry grandmother is still single and is dabbling in other dating platforms beyond Tinder, such as Bumble.
She currently works as a sexual counselor and at the same time spends her time writing a book, which aims to inspire young people and older people to have sexual encounters with people with whom there is a large generation gap.
Her controversial lifestyle has earned her a complex relationship with her children, although she says that her youngest daughter does not condemn what she does and they stay in touch, but her older son, 57, disapproves of her decisions and does not even allow her to see or share with her grandchildren.
However, this woman does not regret the way she leads her life and enjoys her sexuality. On the contrary, she says she is grateful that at her age she can still live fully with herself.
“I am grateful that at this age and at this stage I have as many lovers as I want. I can't help the depth of life. But the superficiality of good sex, that's good enough for me,” he told The Sun.
