The renowned Mexican actress, Fernanda Castillo, in the most recent broadcast of The Interview with Yordi Rosado, spoke about her extensive career in the world of acting. However, he also delved into some dark passages in his life, such as the torturous diets he underwent during his childhood.
The famous 40-year-old histrionist began by recounting that she had always had a 'complex' with her body since she started acting during her first appearances at the Televisa Art Education Center (CEA) and during her childhood, so at the age of 12 she began to take care of her diet and start her fight with weight.
“It tormented me... it was a torment, I loved food, but I suffered it bitterly. It hurt me to look in the mirror and not be the way it should be,” said the histrionist who participated in No Manches Frida.
He later explained that he “always lived with this anguish” of seeing food that he wanted to eat, but could not. Likewise, during the passage of time he began to believe in the stereotypes that dictated within the entertainment industry.
This confrontation with herself accompanied her for a long time, even when she was starting to take her first steps as an actress, as she received negative comments focused on her physique, and, although her parents were doctors, she never approached for guidance, because of the fear they will say.
“I can't be the protagonist, because they're not pretty enough and I don't have a sculptural body, because I better have talent, then screw him”, he argued to Yordi for just over 15 minutes where they delved into the subject of stereotypes.
The actress who gave life to Luisa de la Barrera Azuela in Teresa recalled that one of the roles that confronted her on the subject was the one she played by starring in Dulce Familia, where she had to gain 12 kilos in weight.
To give life to Tamy, she began to eat a lot without the support of a specialist, a situation that made her return to her difficult past with food: “I really wanted to play that character, because it was to break with my idea that I could be successful without that very careful body,” she emphasized.
The partner of Erik Hayser, also stressed that during the end of the recordings and after his weight gain he began to feel a great depression, since it was a song that pursued him for a long time.
“I climbed it in three and a half months eating everything I could find, which made it take me a year and a half to get it down in the stormiest way in the world, with the stormiest diets,” Fernanda Castillo said.
“[...] It was very strong, because also eating that amount of sugar, that amount of fat and that amount of carbohydrates brutally depressed me. I was having a hard time, because that amount of sugar makes you tired. I was in the film and I had to jump and my knees hurt that I was dying,” he added.
To end her speech with Yordi Rosado, the actress applauded, that there is already acceptance of all bodies both in the art industry and outside the public stage.
This is one of the first most in-depth interviews that the Mexican histrionist has conducted, after her recent high-risk pregnancy and after having been hospitalized for obstetric hemorrhage that almost cost her life.
