The last legislative elections of March 13 left a bad perspective on the National Registry Office. Several irregularities that still have Registrar Vega in trouble and his role on election day.
The denunciations began when the Historical Pact indicated that in the pre-count several voting stations did not register a single vote for them. After analysis, denunciations of the software implemented by the Registrar's Office and exhaustive final scrutiny, nearly 500,000 votes were recovered from a large majority for the Historical Pact.
The case resulted in a real historical event, since the alternative community occupied 20 seats in Congress, while Uribism was reduced to only 13. Leaving as a notable majority the alternative and progressive movements compared to the current Senate and Cong reso.
This fact has been widely questioned by the Democratic Center and other traditional political parties that even asked Registrar Vega for a recount, who even thought about it, but due to the lack of guarantees denounced about this process, he decided to dispense.
Now Álvaro Uribe came out again on his twitter account to trinate against the new Congress and its legitimacy: “How is the new Congress going to take possession with the serious accusation of fraud? Con: Thousands denunciations from voters, whose votes did not appear; Complaints about juries; Major discrepancy in counts and reports; The legitimacy of the new Congress is unclear.”
The triune of the former president and who would have been a prisoner in 2020, aroused all kinds of reactions on social networks, from which they pointed out voices in favor and in rejection of what was stated by the leader of the Democratic Center.
But this is not the only time that Uribe burned the networks against the Colombian left in less than a week, last April 7 he brought a message against the intention to vote for alternative movements.
In his short but vehement publication, the also natural head of the Democratic Center asked citizens to be careful about the vote they will cast at the polls next May 29, in the first presidential round that will define the possible successor of Ivan Duque.
Moreover, he even remembered the deceased former president of Cuba, Fidel Castro and said that an eventual leftist mandate in Colombia would be to fulfill the dream he always had in life related to our country.
“Watch out for Fidel Castro's dream: The Caribbean Triangle, Cuba Venezuela and Colombia. Watch out for the vote”, urged Álvaro Uribe, today investigated for procedural fraud and manipulation of witnesses
The criticism of the upcoming elections did not stop there. The former senator also said that the nation is not facing an “alternation of power”, moving from the right to the left, but that it risks being left in the hands of, according to him, a dictatorship.
“Colombia is not facing a debate of democratic alternation of power; the risk is of loss of democracy, which is difficult to recover,” warned the leader of Uribism.
Currently, the polls show that the two candidates with the clearest intentions of reaching a second round are Gustavo Petro and Federico Gutiérrez, so Uribism has moved closer to the Team's campaign for Colombia, even causing its candidate Oscar Iván Zuluaga to resign long before reaching a electoral contest not to intervene with the 'Fico' campaign.
