A fire is reported on Grau Avenue in Cercado de Lima

A new emergency has occurred in the center of the capital, this time on the busy Grau Avenue where firefighters have arrived to control the fire. This is a vacant lot located in the 13th block of the well-known street where the Dos de Mayo Hospital and various businesses are also located. A social media post by the Municipality of Lima confirmed that there have also been members of the National Police of Peru (PNP) and the team for Disaster Risk Management and Serenity of the Lima Commune.

The website of the General Fire Department detailed that the accident began at an average of 2:25 p.m. and that no human loss has been recorded so far. According to the testimony of those who live and transit around the affected property, the place would be used by strangers for drug use. In addition, it has been recommended that drivers avoid traveling through the affected area as crowds could occur in the next few hours. This is due to the work that the authorities have been doing on the busy road.

Initially, it was indicated that there were six units destined to deal with the incident on Grau Avenue, but the latest update on the firefighters' website indicates that there are currently seven units responsible for controlling the fire.

It has been just over a week since the last fire in the Cercado de Lima. The most recent emergency was attended to at the Dirincri headquarters located on Avenida España.
