In Antioquia, there are 10 fewer vaccination points due to the advances in immunization presented by the department. According to the Undersecretary of Public Health, Natalia Montoya Palacio, nearly five million people already have their complete vaccination schedule.

The most recent report on immunization in Medellin, cut off on April 9, states that 4,740,918 doses have been applied. Among these, 1,673,381 correspond to second doses, 381,977 are single doses and 708,218 are booster doses.

Among the points that ended their attention for the application of vaccines are the El Tesoro, Molinos and La central shopping centers in Buenos Aires.

At the following sites, the immunization process continues in Antioquia from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon: shopping centers such as Unicentro, Premium Plaza, San Diego and Oviedo; at the San Antonio, Acevedo and San Javier Metro stations, and at public transport terminals.

With regard to Covid-19 infection levels, the department has an occupancy of Intensive Care Units (ICU) beds of 83% and only 17 covid-19 patients are hospitalized.

Vaccination of minors

Undersecretary Montoya pointed out that given the levels of vaccination of the population, they will focus on completing the schemes for minors aged 3 to 11 years. The entity called on parents to attend the vaccination points, which will not have prior scheduling because only 43 per cent of children have both doses of biologics.

“We have been working hand in hand with the Ministry of Education, conducting vaccination campaigns, organized or coordinated with municipal health and education secretaries to promote joint strategies,” said Natalia Montoya.
