Goalkeeper David Ospina reached 100 matches this Sunday defending Napoli's goal, in all competitions, against Fiorentina. With the squad led by Luciano Spalleti, the Colombian adds three clubs in which he has reached this number of commitments.
The Antioquian has reached a hundred commitments after having achieved it with Atlético Nacional, the team with which he made his debut; Nice, the club with which he has played the most games in his career, and the Colombian national team, where he is the player with the most matches in the national team.
David Ospina has had a three-and-a-half season save at Napoli and played 99 matches between Serie A (77), the Italian Cup (9), the Italian Super Cup (1), the Champions League (8) and the Europa League (4). During this time, the goalkeeper won the Cup title in which he was a key player, despite not being able to play the final due to sanction.
The 2021/2022 season was the best season for the Colombian, considering that it is not over and there are still six games left. Even so, this is the year that David Ospina has had the best numbers and not only because it is the one in which he has played the most games with 29 matches, but also because of the number of matches in which he has taken out his undefeated fence.
This season, the Colombian goalkeeper has scored 11 times his goal at zero, while he has conceded 24 goals. The '25′ is one of the goalkeepers with the fewest goals per league among the major leagues in Europe.
2018/2019 (24): 25 goals conceded and 8 undefeated hurdles
2019/2020 (23): 22 goals conceded and 8 undefeated hurdles
2020/2021 (23): 21 goals conceded and 10 hurdles undefeated
2021/2022 (29): 24 goals conceded and 11 hurdles undefeated
Napoli (3rd) let out valuable points at their Diego Maradona stadium in the middle of the title race, when they were defeated 3-2 by Fiorentina (7th), this Sunday in the 32nd matchday of Serie A.
This setback leaves Naples in third place, when he had started the weekend in second place. He is now beating Inter Milan (2nd), which has the same points but better goal difference, after Saturday's 2-0 win against Hellas Verona (9th).
Napoli also missed the opportunity to become the provisional leader and are still one point behind AC Milan (1st), which can stand out with four advantages over their two great rivals for 'Scudetto' if they beat Torino (11th) in the last match on Sunday. Fiorentina gave Naples a headache again, as it did in January in the Italian Cup (5-2).
The Tuscan team scored the goals of Argentina's Nicolás González (minute 29), Frenchman Jonathan Ikoné (66, his first goal in Serie A) and Brazil's Arthur Cabral (72). Napoli, very hasty offensively, were able to equalize provisionally in 58 by Belgian Dries Mertens, who had just entered the match, but then saw any chance of scoring vanish.
Naples' second goal was scored by Nigerian Victor Osimhen, already in '84, to shorten the disadvantage to 3-2. His team could not get the draw, despite the final attempts. It is the fifth home defeat for Napoli, which is having better balance outside their stadium.
