Up to three years in prison for Mario Delgado for “carrying votes”: PRD pointed out alleged electoral crime

The national president of Morena was accused of violating the electoral law to influence the direction of the citizen's vote during the Mandate Revocation

Guardar

The Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) said that Mario Delgado could be punished with up to three years in prison for allegedly committing electoral crimes during the Mandate Revocation process held this Sunday, April 10.

During the meeting of the permanent session of the National Electoral Institute, Ángel Ávila, representative of the PRD to the INE, informed the organization to request the assistance of the Office of the Prosecutor Specialized in Electoral Crimes (FEDE) in relation to an alleged carrying of votes led by Delgado Carrillo, national president of National Regeneration Movement (Morena).

Initially, the standard-bearer of the Aztec sun congratulated the INE for being truly committed to the Mandate Revocation process and installing 99.98% of the boxes to consult people: “the INE has not failed citizens”.

However, he pointed out that this process is tainted by acts of politicians and public servants, so he insisted that the corresponding prosecutor's office should investigate the “carrying” carried out by Mario Delgado in the capital's mayor's office of Iztacalco.

Mario Delgado, president of Morena, took people aboard a van to participate in the revocation of the Mandate

Specifically, the perredist pointed out that the ITAM graduate violated Article 7 Fraction X of the General Law on Electoral Crimes, which specifies a corporal penalty of up to three years in prison:

In summary, he said that Mario Delgado is committing an electoral crime and spreading it on networks “openly, flagrantly and cynically”. In this regard, he recalled that Morena's militants are not equal to those of the opposition parties (PRI, PAN and PRD), “no, they are not equal, they are worse”.

He therefore requested that the FEDE take charge of these statements; however, he recalled that this institution “did absolutely nothing” following complaints filed in 2021 regarding the electoral process that defined the governorships of 15 states.

“I hope that citizens realize that this INE effort is being tarnished,” he insisted. In addition, it should be recalled that this Sunday, Ávila condemned the actions of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), Adán Augusto López and the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) in promoting this advisory exercise.

He also emphasized the role of López Hernández, head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), when he used Sedena clothing to promote the Revocation of Mandate. This is because he mobilized on a plane from the National Guard (NG) to Sonora, participated in a political event and said “don't listen to the INE advisors, they're leaving.”

The perredist ironized and questioned the government, because, in an exercise of empathy, he posed the question of what the inhabitants of Veracruz, Zacatecas and Michoacán, who have suffered the results of AMLO's security policy and see that the GN lent part of its infrastructure to the service of López Obrador's proselytism, would be thinking.

Therefore, the PRD will present a process of total nullity of the Mandate Revocation due to the “systematic intervention” by public servants and the president of the republic himself, this because they want to generate a precedent for the 2024 electoral process, where a new presidency will be defined.
