On April 10, the citizen consultation for the revocation of the mandate promoted by Andrés Manuel López Obrador is held, from which, during the hours that the boxes have been open, controversies, debates due to mixed opinions and memes have already arisen.
Social media users have spoken out in favor of and against the Revocation of Mandate, some of the issues that took the most force are that there is very little influx of people in the boxes, that there were more Mexicans at Coldplay concerts or at the Palm Sunday Mass, they also used memes to complain about the dry law or to promote the vote.
One of the first images that took on greater significance was shared by Chumel Torres, who took one of the photos of Alfredo Adame's last fight to ensure that he's tired of being asked if he's going to vote.
The issue that has made the most noise among netizens is about the number of people who are exercising their right to vote, which is why some have made fun of what the boxes look like.
Some users shared an image where Goku invites Vegeta to fight in an empty place and added different photographs of completely empty boxes.
And it is that, since it started at 8:00 on April 10, when the opening of boxes began, social networks reported that in some locations there were very few - or no - people participating in this exercise.
Chumel also took up the theme of Coldplay and the number of people who attended its eight concerts, ensuring that the group's shows were more crowded than in votes.
Many other users shared memes that, due to the British band's long stay in Mexico, they would also have the right to vote in the Mandate Revocation or that they even support AMLO.
One user also shared a video where he mocked the number of people who were going to the Palm Sunday Mass, which is also celebrated on April 10, because while there were hundreds of people in the congregation with their palms, the square that was less than two meters away was completely empty.
Other netizens complained that from the night of April 9 until this Sunday the Dry Law was implemented due to the revocation of the mandate.
In Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Campeche, Zacatecas, Tabasco, Quintana Roo and some places in Guanajuato, they decided to implement restricting the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
On the other hand, there were users who used memes to show their support for Andrés Manuel López Obrador, such as the images in which some netizens shared that they might be slow to vote because they were writing long speeches for the president or even drawing his portrait.
Also some in favor of this democratic exercise used the same image of Homer Simpson in a suit to remind them that for the last time they will be able to vote in favor of López Obrador.
The National Electoral Institute (INE) announced that, this morning, shortly after the start of the voting for the Mandate Revocation, it was reported that 56,456 boxes were installed, just over 89% of those approved by Local Councils throughout the country.
Thousands of Mexicans have attended to vote, but it is necessary that at least 40% of the current electoral roll participate in this exercise, that is, that at least 37 million citizens vote.
