Sophia, 17, only went to one party and died, relatives denounced: “She was drugged and murdered”

The young woman went out to celebrate the end of the school year with a group of friends in a bar located in the Cuauhtémoc mayor

This weekend, the femicide protocol was activated in Mexico City due to the death of Sofia Morales, a 17-year-old teenager who lost her life on the afternoon of last Friday, April 8 in the streets of the Cuauhtémoc mayor. So far the cause of death is unknown and his family demands justice.

According to the first reports, the young student left High School Number 4 Vidal Castañeda y Nájera heading to a bar located in the Doctores neighborhood to celebrate her graduation with her classmates. After a few hours in the building, communication was lost until the family was notified by the appropriate authorities.

Emergency services went to the scene and transferred the teenager's body to a public hospital. Unfortunately, Sofia entered the hospital with no signs of life. Reports indicate that no signs of violence were detected and the death was notified to the Public Prosecutor's Office, where the corresponding research folder was opened.

As soon as the news broke, Gerardo Partida, an internationalist and uncle of Sofia, took to his social networks to publicize the case and demand justice from the appropriate authorities. In the last few hours, the director of Fundación E said his niece had been drugged and killed during last Friday's celebration.

My 17-year-old niece, Sofia Morales, was drugged and killed in a meeting with her high school classmates, the authorities want to make it look like a wrongful murder and we have encountered a lot of resistance. This is feminicide,” she tweeted.

Gerardo Partida assured that Sofia would have been the victim of the crime of femicide and, according to his information, she would not have been the only one who had been drugged, three other women who were his friends had gone through a similar situation and are currently recovering.

“More than is happening in our country. We are not going to close any avenue for justice to be done, we just need your full support to solve the case and find those responsible [...] Not only was it my niece, it was 3 more minors, who also drugged and are in serious condition. Innocent girls who only celebrated their high school graduation,” he tweeted.

In recent hours, Partida has asked for the support of citizens to disseminate the case of Sofía Morales with the intention of making it visible. She also shared some images with the Hagstahg JusticiParasophia where, as a tribute, she showed that the student who was about to finish her preparatory studies had an impressive talent for drawing.
