The taxi service in Bogotá is one of the most used by citizens, it is governed by a value that is granted per 100 meters traveled and is calculated using a taximeter. To explain this method further, the Mayor's Office released key information that allows calculating the value of the route.
As he pointed out, one of the aspects to consider is the initial cost of each service, called a banderazo or starter, which is charged once at the start of a race. It's also important to know that costs vary by time and day. For example, there is a nightly surcharge that applies from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and there is another that is charged on Sundays or holidays.
In this regard, Decree 004 of 2022, issued by the District Administration, stipulated the rates for taxi service in the city during this year and which take into account the following parameters:
-The unit value per 100 meters is $90
-The value to pay for the flag or start of the taximeter is $2,500
-The value for every 24 seconds of waiting is $90.
-The surcharge value to and from the Airport or Airlift is $4,500
-The night and/or Sunday or holiday surcharge is $2,200
-The minimum run is $4,500
-The door-to-door service surcharge is $800

It should be said that citizens can go to line 195 and to bogota.gov.co/sdqs where it is possible to file a complaint with the District Secretariat for Mobility, in the event of irregularities in the charging of taxi services in the city.
