How was Katy Jurado's relationship with Marlon Brando

Katy Jurado not only triumphed in films in Mexico and the United States during the 1950s and 1960s, but she was also a real femme fatale during this time, as she became a symbol of Mexican beauty and conquered the hearts of actors such as John Wayne and Marlon Brando. With the latter he thought he would only have one date, but it turned into a relationship of years.

Pito Pérez's Useless Life was the first film with which Katy Jurado attracted the public's attention thanks to its beauty, since then, she began to position herself as one of the most captivating artists in cinema, and it didn't take long to become the stereotype of what an antagonist and at the same time a seductive woman.

Thanks to the image he gave, he caught the attention of filmmaker Budd Boetticher and actor John Wayne, who begged him to participate in a Hollywood film, although it would be shot entirely in Mexico. Jurado had an easy time learning English, which allowed him to open the doors completely to succeed in the United States.

At the same time, Katy caught the attention of one of her first suitors, Ernest Borgnine, whom she later married. The couple were one of the most admired in the film industry, but it wasn't their most famous relationship.

After her divorce with Borgnine, it was rumored that the Mexican woman had engaged in courtships with several of her colleagues, since the separation was due to the actor's jealousy. One of the actors with whom the actress most matched was Marlon Brando, a favorite on the Hollywood scene until her death. The reason they linked Katy to Brando was because it was known that he had no qualms about having several romances at the same time.

They met in 1952 during the filming of Viva Zapata! , but Marlon would have fallen in love with her during her participation in High Noon. Jurado had no love commitments, but he did. In fact, the histrionist revealed some time later that she knew about the marriage she had with Movita Castaneda and the affair with Rita Moreno.

However, one night Brando called her and proposed to go on a romantic date, she accepted thinking that it could not be a big problem, because she was not interested in starting a loving relationship with him.

For several decades it was thought that the protagonists of The Impenetrable Face did keep a secret romance, however, Katy denied it during the program Stories Socketed.

The protagonist of El seminarista revealed that from that romantic date they became so close that “we talked soul to soul” and that they did come to love each other, but from friendship.

Their relationship was so close that they decided to become “blood brothers”, so they both cut each other between their thumb and wrist to join their wounds, thus sealing their commitment as friends and, emotionally, as brothers.

The star of The Godfather and Katy maintained their friendship throughout their lives, she related that the last few times they saw each other she said to her: “Heart, we used to kiss each other on the mouth, now we give each other belly buttons because we see how we are”, referring to the fact that they just hugged each other.
