Easter Week in Azpitia, Lunahuana and Paracas: price of tours, tickets and tourist places

Holy Week is one of the dates that Peruvians most crave, some for religious devotion and fervor, others for festivities and nights of fun and another considerable group, is looking forward to travel this season. Easter is a time closely linked to the tourism sector and if traveling is what you want to do on this date, then we will show you the 3 more options economic travel on the outskirts of Metropolitan Lima, facing the south.

April 10 began this date and ends on the 17th of the same month; however, you must bear in mind that holidays are days prior to the end date of Easter, it is that is, on Thursday 14, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 April.

Azpitia is known as “The Balcony of the Sky”, because it has an incredible view of the Mala River Valley. It also stands out for its gastronomy, where the shrimp is the one who gets the applause and also the picarón made from yucca. You can do activities such as horseback riding, pisco tasting and visiting winegrowers, ATV riding and riding the extreme swing. It is 1 hour and a half from Lima. The good thing about Azpitia is that it is a small town and if you travel by car of your own, this can mean lower fuel consumption.

Although already inside Azpitia the track is paved in the part of the country restaurants you will come across some small trails.

Costs to go to Azpitia:

- Passages: A ticket from Lima to Azpitia is divided into two parts, if you are going by public transport. To do this, you have to take a bus that goes to Mala and this can cost you between S/. 15 to S/. 20. Then get off at the whereabouts of Mala and take a bus to Azpitia which costs around S/. 5. If you are travelling by private transport, take into account that the route from Lima to Azpitia is 80 km.

- Accommodation: You can find rooms from S/. 50 to S/. 450 per night, according to Google Travel.

- Food: There are cheap prices from S/.10 and there is also a menu. Of course, we recommend you visit the restaurant “El balcón del cielo” because it is precisely this place that has the extraordinary and unique view for which Azpitia made its fame stronger. The dishes in this room are from S/.35 to S/.80 approximately.

LUNAHUANA

Lunahuana is the perfect destination for adventure. This town is located in the province of Cañete and at a distance of approximately three hours from Lima.

This place has a spectacular climate, the sun accompanies them all year round, but as it is a valley because the Cañete River is part of this place, the climate becomes cool. Also, this makes it ideal for those looking for extreme and adventure sports because they can go canoeing, kayaking, riding ATVs, hiking, mountain biking and canopy. One thing that you should not forget to try in Lunahuana is the wines and pisco they produce, since it is an area with a high production of these drinks, so you can also visit the local winemakers and learn about the process of creating wine and pisco. And last but not least, gastronomy, where the main protagonist is the shrimp, which is part of Lunahuana's identity.

- Passages: A passage from Lima to Lunahuana is around S/. 25. There are full day packages from S/. 69 round trip, but they do not include food or extra activities. If you are in private mobility, take into account that the distance from Lima to Lunahuana is approximately 180 km.

- Lodging: In non-holidays you can find lodging from S/. 50 per night, but since it is a date with high demand the prices double, so the cheapest will be hotels from S/. 80 per night, but they are few, most lodgings border S/. 150 soles or more. Of course, we recommend separating them in advance.

- Food: Here you can find affordable prices, from S/.10 to S/. 60 per plate. You will also find a menu.

PARACAS

Located in the department of Ica. Paracas is one of the most visited tourist destinations by Peruvians, due to its proximity to Lima. It is approximately 4 and a half hours from the capital and the activities that you can do in this area of the Peruvian coast are diverse. Being on the Peruvian coast, you can take a boat trip to the Ballestas Islands, located offshore. You can also visit the Paracas National Reserve, where you'll find Playa Roja and La Mina. You can do this visit on ATVs or go kart. You can also paraglide and observe the beauty of the reserve and the sea from the sky. Other activities include Paddle Board, Catamaran and Kitesurfing.

While in Paracas, you can continue your adventure route in Ica and move to the Huacachina Lagoon, where you can take tube rides, sandboard and drive ATVs. If you are in private mobility, take into account that the distance from Lima to Paracas is approximately 250 km and from Lunahuana to Paracas the distance is 140 km.

- Lodging: Easter is a date with high demand for tourism, so they leave from S/. 150 per night, but they are few, most of them lodgings border the S /. 200 soles onwards. There are also hotels that are located a little further from the beach and these can be a little cheaper. The basic recommendation is to book in advance.

- Food: Meal prices are usually high and mostly à la carte dishes. You will find dishes from S/. 25 to more. If you want to find a more affordable price, you should stay away from the main avenues and you will find restaurants that offer dishes from S/. 12.
