At around 7:30 in the morning of April 10, a staircase bus known as chiva, which was heading towards the Los Andes village of the municipality of Salgar, in the department of Antioquia, capsized when crossing a bridge and fell into a ravine.
It carried more than two dozen passengers, who were assisted by inhabitants of the area. According to the Municipal Council for Risk Management of Salgar, the accident occurred on the bridge known as Los Urán, and fell to the tributary of the same name of the village, resulting in 1 death, 1 missing and 25 injured.
