As part of International Women's Day, feminist collectives will gather in different places in Mexico City to hold the March of 8M.

March 8 commemorates the struggle of women for their rights; the protests that preceded the marches were promoted in 1953 when American textile workers resumed the suffragist movement and demanded equal working and wage conditions compared to men.

It was until 1975 that the United Nations (UN) officially named March 8 as International Women's Day, since then year after year women and girls carry out activities to highlight the struggle.

At the March 8 marches in Mexico City, women and girls travel through slogans, posters and some distinctive garment to demand justice for cases of femicide, poor working conditions, to show aggressors and sexist violence. In this year's 2022, feminist collectives will gather at different points near the capital center to address the Angel of Independence and Zócalo.
