All for a TikTok. Leonard León could not stand the fact that Johan Mendoza, known in the art scene as' Chacaloncito ', published the awkward moment who lived during a private concert. It happens that the cumbia singer was out of tune during a performance and had to receive the help of his partner.
“I didn't arrive and I gave him a hand,” Mendoza wrote in the TikTok clip, which quickly went viral on the platform and other social networks. However, users did not take the video with humor and assured that it was uploaded with the intention of making the former Group 5 member look bad.
“Brother, it doesn't seem right to me that you make it public”, “It's weird because Leonard is one of the best voices in Peru”, “It must have been bad that day, he arrives easily”, “If you are going to give such a hand, you better continue straight ahead”, were some comments in said video.
The one who did not take the images well was Leonard León himself. Through his TikTok account, the cumbiambero explained that he was sick in his throat that day and that he could not cancel the show because of a contract issue. He also lashed out against 'Chacaloncito' for exposing it on the Internet.
“What are you going to shake hands with me? He who is a musician can understand me. All singers are not going to be 100% with the voice, we are human beings. It was my turn and now I am the object of the mockery of this guy, who will have uploaded the video to get more likes. I am not going to mention it because for me it is an NN in music,” he said.
'CHACALONCITO' DEFENDS HIMSELF
Due to the criticism he received on the platform, Johan Mendoza clarified that he did not want to make Leonard León look bad as many claimed. According to him, he did not record or upload the images of the untuned song of the cumbiambero, but a member of his team.
In addition, he indicated that he was disappointed in León because he showed him that he was not a good person with his recent statements, as he was practically minimizing it in the industry. Despite this, he continues to respect him as an artist because of his long career.
“It was an honor for me to sing a song with you, but your way of being left me a lot to be desired. As an artist, I have nothing to reproach you because anyone has a bad time, but as a person, brother, you fell out of the picture”, he said.
He also hinted that Leonard would have been quite self-centered during the show, since the family that hired him were disappointed with his attitude. “You are missing about three, four or five suns of humility,” he added before saying goodbye.
