From outside her home in San Borja, the leader of Fuerza Popular regretted that the Inter-American Court has, for the second time, generated deep disappointment to the patriarch of her family, who must remain in the Barbadillo prison in Ate.

“We have received this news with great pain, because of what they are doing to our father. We had a little hope that the IACHR, as it did last time, would maintain my father's freedom, but this is the second time that he has been deeply disappointed,” he said on the verge of tears.

In addition, he hinted that the delay in the procedures for his father's release could have been premeditated. I feel that everything that is happening was no accident. The delay in the entire procedure for him to finally be released, seems to have been premeditated. I feel that this is not justice, I feel that those are not human rights. It is absolutely unfair to a person who is absolutely ill and who is an elderly old man,” he continued.

In her dialogue with the press, Keiko Fujimori asked God for her father to resist a new disappointment, and she prayed for people who “mock” the pain that her family is going through.

We ask God to give great strength to our father, I think it is what he needs most in order to survive and to be able to resist this disappointment. We also ask God to forgive all the people who have generated this mistreatment and make fun of our family's pain. We do not wish evil to anyone, may God forgive them”, he said.

Finally, he indicated that they will not lose faith in order to obtain the freedom of their father, with whom they hope to meet in the next few hours.

“Finally, we as a family are going to be reunited. We haven't been able to talk to our father yet, I guess you already know the news. Let's hope that in the next few hours or tomorrow he can call us. I want to tell you that we are not going to lose faith and we will continue to fight for your freedom. Today is not a pleasant day for us”, he concluded
