The tourism sector is reactivated globally with the arrival of the non-working days of Easter 2022. This industry, which plays a great role in the Peruvian economy, was affected by the onset of the pandemic. This caused the activities to be temporarily stopped. Dates like these are important for workers and for tourists, both domestic and foreign, who start trips throughout Peru.
As you remember, before SARS-CoV-2 was detected, this April holiday was eagerly awaited by Peruvians, who used the days away from their centers of work to go on short routes near Lima or the interior of the country. One of the most memorable scenes was the one that was lived on the beaches, as a large number of compatriots arrived with their equipment to camp and spend the long weekend.
With the new restrictions imposed on the territory, and if you are thinking of organizing a camp with friends or family, you must know the measures you need to comply with, and above all, if there is authorization to spend the night in this public space that registers a great flow of visitors. Those who show the greatest interest are bathers and those who practice water sports.

ENTRANCE TO BEACHES, RIVERS, LAKES, LAGOONS AND POOLS
If you are over 12 years old and want to go to beaches, rivers, lakes, lagoons and swimming pools, you must present your physical or virtual card that proves that you have completed, in Peru or abroad, your COVID-19 vaccination scheme, and the booster dose for people over 18.
Although there is no official curfew established by the government, it is possible that municipal authorities will take measures to control access to these public spaces, so that there is no agglomeration and that this causes coronavirus infections.
In the coming days, amendments could be made to the restrictions for the period of Holy Week, non-working days in which there is a large mobilization of Peruvians and foreigners, whose main mission is to do domestic tourism on established holidays.
DOES THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AFFECT TOURISM?
Recently, President Pedro Castillo declared the national road network in a state of emergency, which brings together the joints that connect Lima with the rest of the country. According to the rule, this measure will only fall to those people who generate chaos on the roads - such as blockades and assaults - being stopped by law enforcement agencies.
In relation to travellers travelling through Peru, they will not be intervened, so there is no type of limitation for their transfer, either on routes or tourist areas. It is recommended that you carry your ID card at all times to be identified if necessary.
