The visit of the eldest son of the late Vicente Fernández to Colombia has caused a sensation among fans of the ranchera and the Mexican artist who also followed in his father's musical footsteps. Vicente Fernandez Jr. has shown his 363,000 Instagram followers the incredible moments he has experienced traveling with his partner in the Colombian Caribbean. However, there are other reasons why the Mexican arrived in the country.
In addition to celebrating the birthday of businesswoman Mariana González Padilla, the Mexican artist's partner, Fernández's arrival in Colombia is marked by labor issues. As revealed in an interview with Show Caracol, from Noticias Caracol, he is about to open a Mexican food restaurant in Bogotá and will launch a musical work with an important national vallenato artist.
He told the news that the place that will open in Bogotá will be called “La Cantina de Vicente Fernández Jr. , although I don't drink, I am very swallowed. I really like food. I like tacos, they cannot be missed and they will have the distinction that they are the taquitos of Vicente Fernández Jr. ”. The place will be characterized by bringing part of Mexico's gastronomic culture to Colombia; however, he noted that diners will also be able to find preparations that combine Asian and Colombian cuisine.
According to journalist Claudia Lozano, the restaurant will be located in the north of the capital and is expected to open in June.
On the other hand, his profession as a musical artist also has a new connection with Colombia, with the help of singer Nelson Velásquez. Fernández recently presented to the world a collaboration with the artist recognized in the vallenato, which is the reinterpretation of the song 'Volver', a composition by Wilfran Castillo that became popular for the performance of Velásquez when he was part of 'Los Inquietos del Vallenato'.
However, now the one who interprets the heartfelt verses of 'You were also my first love, you too were the first illusion that entered my life' is the powerful voice of the son of the 'King of Mariachi', accompanied by the traditional rhythm of the ranchera. This is what Wilfran Castillo's' Volver 'sounds like in the voices of Vicente Fernández Jr. and Nelson Velásquez:
On the news, the Mexican artist said he was proud to present this song with a Colombian he admires. He added that this is a tribute that he wanted to pay to Colombians because of the appreciation they have had for him and the entire Fernández dynasty. “I am proud to share with you that a song came out that is an icon song of music, my brother Nelson Velásquez. It is a combination that combines vallenato with Mexican music as a tribute to all the affection they have given me,” Fernández said.
In addition, he revealed that the song with which he most remembers his father, who passed away on December 12, is 'When I wanted to be great'.

Recently, Vicente Fernández Jr. was not the only member of the Mexican dynasty to have stepped on Colombian soil; his brother Alejandro Fernández included two cities in our country on his “Made in Mexico” tour. On March 24, 'El Potrillo' was presented at the Events Center of the North Highway, in Bogotá, and on the 26th of the same month at one of the mega-concerts of the Barranquilla Carnival.
With his 'Made in Mexico' tour, Alejandro Fernández had already planned to come to Colombia on August 6, 2020. However, this was another event that was canceled due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus. It should be remembered that 'Made in Mexico' is also the name of the album that the Mexican artist released in February 2020, with which he marked his return to the mariachi ranchera genre.
