After starring in a much-talked about moment on social networks with Erik Rubín, the singer known as Apio Quijano broke the silence, saying that he was attacked by rumors of the “almost kiss”.
The Kabah singer strongly denied that he wanted to make out with Erik Rubín during his performance on the 90′s Pop Tour and threw himself against the people who spread the video with a misinterpretation. Above all, he said he was hurt because it was women and men belonging to the LGBT+ community who gave strength to the rumor.
“What hurt me is not what was said, but the way and the way they said things, which were very hurtful and I tell you, I was surprised that it was women and the gay community that were like that, so it's like again saying you have to respect, we want respect, let's also respect,” he said to Ventaneando.
During the performance of the 90′s Pop Tour in Veracruz, the member of Kabah and Timbiriche were singing and decided to come over for a hug, however, they extended the moment for several seconds leaving very little distance between their lips. Subsequently, they danced briefly, began to bow their heads until they met and eventually parted ways.
The action drove the public crazy and on social networks it began to spread as a “romantic moment”, as their faces got so close, that many people considered that they were about to kiss.
In this regard, Apio Quijano reiterated that it was an action totally taken out of context and related that in reality, the Timbiriche singer was only helping him cover up a mistake, since he didn't have a microphone, causing laughter between the two.
“At that particular moment, I was singing the choir and I was singing, I don't know what was dancing and when I forgot that I had to sing with him, then I go out and go with him, I came with him without a microphone, then it's my turn to sing and I didn't have the microphone and what Erick did was protect me; flat out I laughed with him, we hugged each other And that's it, the situation looks very tempting, but... no,” he shared in conversation with Ventaneando.
The singer added that “It has nothing to do with everything that people are inventing”, but he admitted that he doesn't care about the rumors around him: “and if you want to keep inventing it, make it up... your stories, your stories, your stories,” he explained.
The meeting between Erik Rubín and Hector Apio Quijano took place on April 2 at the WTC in Boca del Rio, located in the state of Veracruz. This series of concerts has been organized for five years and aims to revive the greatest hits of the most popular artists in the 1990s.
The 90's Pop Tour has a wide repertoire of artists and bands, musical talents such as Pee Wee, Motel, Paty Cantú, Kudai, Yahir, JNS, Ana Torroja, Lynda, Opposite Sentidos, Benny and Magneto are just a few members of this tour, which will travel through various regions of Mexico and is organized by Ari Borovoy.
In addition to Apio Quijano, who reacted to the event was Andrea Legarreta, the wife of Erik Rubín, but she did nothing but laugh and take the recording with humor, because she is sure that there is nothing else between them: “After what they will say”, she mentioned in the program she conducts.
It should be noted that a few days ago, Erik Rubín celebrated his 22nd anniversary together with Andrea Legarreta; during the early hours of April 1.
